About The Class

My tapestry weaving class is a 4-hour long workshop covering the essentials of tapestry weaving, as well as advanced techniques.

Numbers for each class are limited, with plenty of time for one-to-one teaching and to ask any weaving questions.

You will go home with your own frame loom, weaving tools, instruction booklet and Balfour & Co yarn, as well as all the information you need to keep going with weaving.

What You’ll Learn

During the class you’ll choose your colour scheme and begin transforming your design into woven tapestry.

The class will cover correct weaving technique, creating geometric shapes, adding texture with soumak & rya knotting and how to take your weaving off the loom, finish it and display it.

We work with a variety of yarns and fibres, discussing the different properties and applications of each. We’ll also cover general principles for the structure and construction of tapestry weaving and you will be shown how to apply these in your work in the future.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do your workshops take place?

My workshops take place at various venues, and the address of each venue can be found on the purchase page for that workshop. Further address and travel details will be provided in an email sent out before the workshop.

I’ve never woven before. Are your workshops suitable for beginners?

Absolutely! Each class includes a lot of hands-on support and one-to-one guidance. My team will also be in touch with you in advance of the workshop, and you can ask questions then.

How many people are there per class?

There are 8-10 people per class, and there is plenty of time for one-to-one teaching. However this does mean that tickets sell out quickly, so be sure to book your spot ASAP!

The class I wanted is sold out. Can I sign up to a waiting list?

Yes! You’ll be able to sign up to a waiting list on the page for the sold out class, and will be notified if a spot opens up.

I need to cancel my ticket. Can I transfer or get a refund?

We are only able to offer refunds in the event that someone else takes your spot on the workshop.

Unfortunately we are not able to offer transfers at this time as we have a very limited number of classes available.
